  • Ask about allergens when you order: US food law names nine major allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy and sesame), and kitchens can tell you which dishes contain them.
  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

Never a complaint about the food. You always get enough for 3 days. It is tasty, well cooked, and hot if you ordered something hot. The dill pickles at the pickle bar have a funny taste and smell though, maybe from sitting out. Our waiter Geo was amazing. The only complaint is that there was a table 2 away from us, maybe 15 feet away, where an older woman was talking on her phone, on speaker loudly, about a legal issue, and an older man at the same table was talking loudly, stopping random people near the pickle bar about non-sense. He was in a wheelchair and came over and started talking to the table right behind us, interrupting their meal. It was rude, and loud. To me, someone from the staff should have said something, it was that loud. Overall, if we go to the Expo Center, we go to Harold's.

Stumbled onto Harold’s while staying nearby. I was very optimistic when I found this place in the back of a condemned hotel, it out lasted the life of a hotel. The portions are off the charts and sharing is encouraged, best for two or more people for sure. Service is fantastic and professional. Pickle bar with house made pickles are great. Pastrami and corned beef were both great. Easily top 3 all time chessscske as well.

Was in Woodbridge for a couple of days and thought we’d try Harold’s. The food and service here are absolutely outstanding. The matzo ball soup is fantastic and broth so rich and flavorful. The prices are very high but the portions are ginormous. Like most serve 3-4 people. Order accordingly! 😂 We thought that maybe the portion size was a gimmick and the food wouldn’t live up to the hype. We were so wrong and never so happy to be so wrong. In fact, was so delicious that we ordered to-go the next day so we could bring home more soup and the delicious blintzes. Wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Pickle bar was also a nice bonus. Will 100% be back!

I stopped here on the drive from Baltimore north toward New York, and for that purpose it’s almost ideal: convenient, memorable, and definitely more fun than a normal highway stop. Would I recommend it? Yes. Is it worth seeing once? Also yes. It has that big, theatrical, old-school deli energy where the portions are part of the show. That said, I’m not in the camp that every good restaurant is automatically a five-star spot. When everything is a five, it gets harder to separate the truly elite places, the hometown heroes, and the restaurants worth planning a trip around. Harold’s lands for me as a very solid three-point-something, graciously rounded to four because they have a Marine Corps flag hung in reception. The food was good, the portions were whatever you make it, and the whole place has novelty value without feeling like a total gimmick. The sandwiches are large enough to satisfy a hungry, medium-sized guy without completely defeating him. And honestly, on a menu full of meat, my favorite thing may have been the healthy pickled salad/pickle bar situation — bright, crunchy, and a great counterbalance to the heavier deli classics. My biggest knock was the service atmospher

Harold’s New York Deli Restaurant was a great experience from start to finish. I ordered the junior pastrami sandwich, tried the famous pickle bar, added mustard, Russian dressing, and coleslaw, and finished with a chocolate egg cream in a frosted mug. The pastrami was juicy, tender, flavorful, and packed with classic New York deli flavor. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful with every question I had. The restaurant itself is massive with a huge menu and oversized portions. Definitely a unique spot if you enjoy traditional New York style deli food.
